History
1970's
- 1973 - Started operations in Guatemala as "Lubricantes Metálicos S.A." with the representation of Imperial Oil and Grease Co. for the exclusive distribution of MOLUB-ALLOY lubricants.
- 1978 - Started operations in San Salvador.
1980's
- 1987 - Started operations in Costa Rica as "Lubricantes Metálicos S.A." which now operates as Tritech S.A.
- During the 80's MOLUB-ALLOY lubricants were purchased by ICI where TRIBOL products were born to complement the high performance lubricants line.
1990's
- 1993 - BURMAH CASTROL Group acquires the two lines of high performance lubricants of ICI and join them with OPTIMOL lubricants (company acquired in 1990) witch now they offer a complete range of high performance lubricants to the market.
- 1993 - Started operations in Mexico in the city of Cordoba, Veracruz, focused mainly on the sugar industry.
- 1998 - Tritech Mexico joins the company LOF (OPTIMOL Mexican Distributor) to form Picnos.
2000's
- 2000 - CASTROL and Tritech form a joint venture, consolidating again Tritech and its operations in Central America and Mexico.
- 2000 – Was announced the acquisition of Castrol by BP (British Petroleum), by the amount of $4.7 billion, which converts Tritech a business unit of BP.
- 2009 - Started the Metal Working Division.
2010's
- 2011 - Started operations in Houston Texas and Panama.
Future
- Today we are in the process of opening operations in Ecuador, Dominican Republic, Trinidad and Tobago and Jamaica.
Since 1993 Tritech has won the "Sales Growth" awards from Castrol seven times and "CINA Distributor of the Year" three times.
